eydon confirms its commitment to connecting Senegal’s regions through a permanent supply of fuel and local services. On December 3, it inaugurated a new gas station in Ziguinchor, located in the Boucotte district, thereby strengthening its presence in the southern part of the country.
eydon SA, a Senegalese company with African shareholders, notably the Axian Group and its subsidiary AXIAN Energy, which favor South-South partnerships, is taking a new step toward energy inclusion. On Wednesday, December 3, the company inaugurated its new service station in the heart of Ziguinchor, in the presence of local administrative authorities, Philippe Bourgeois, director at eydon SA, the CEO, Mr. Malick Guèye, accompanied by his teams, transport stakeholders, and its partner Mr. Jean-Charles Da Silva, whose commitment was instrumental in the realization of the project.
With this opening, eydon reaffirms its commitment to developing infrastructure designed to support local development, promote the economic and social integration of communities, and provide them with reliable and accessible services. The station embodies this ambition through a modern facility “designed for the people,” in line with the company’s motto: “source of energy.”
As the CEO of eydon SA pointed out, the station was conceived, designed, and built for users: local residents, motorcyclists, taxis, individuals, and transporters. It has already seen significant traffic since its first days of operation.
Innovations at the service of customers
The station houses modern infrastructure that meets international standards and enhanced security measures. It is run by an experienced team, trained to respond effectively to users’ needs.
It also introduces an innovative badge that allows customers to track their consumption in real time, optimize their spending, and benefit from a smooth and transparent service.
According to CEO Malick Guèye, this innovation illustrates eydon’s commitment to offering concrete solutions to support the mobility of households, professionals, and local economic players.
A vision driven by the AXIAN Group: energy inclusion and sustainable development
The CEO pointed out that this project would not have been possible without the support of the AXIAN Group, a shareholder in eydon, whose vision is based on a fundamental principle: energy inclusion. Present in 19 countries, AXIAN operates in Senegal in the telecommunications, fintech, and energy sectors. Through its subsidiary AXIAN Energy, the group supports the development of infrastructure designed to make energy more accessible, more reliable, more competitive, and better distributed throughout the country. The new station in Ziguinchor is part of this dynamic. As Mr. Guèye stated: “The Ziguinchor station is not just a commercial opening. It reflects a national vision: every region must benefit from modern, equitable, and sustainable infrastructure.” This approach is in line with AXIAN’s structural projects in Senegal, notably: the Kolda solar power plant, which provides clean energy to 235,000 beneficiaries and generates 400 local jobs; the Minersol solar power plant in Bargny-Sendou, producing nearly 25 GWh per year thanks to more than 35,000 panels.
A first milestone for sustainable regional development
The Ziguinchor station is the first step among other planned investments in the region. The project was carried out in partnership with the company Alana, the project manager, and with the collaboration of the local communities, who are warmly thanked for their patience and support during the work.
The presence of local authorities, regional directors, and technical services demonstrates a collective desire to support the development of Ziguinchor and, more broadly, Casamance.
Beyond the commercial aspect, Eydonsouhaite aims to create local jobs, strengthen skills, generate indirect opportunities, and promote training in the energy, service, and maintenance sectors—commitments that are fully aligned with the vision of the AXIAN Group, a major African player in inclusive energy development.
